Gunnar - Tasmanian Devil The Horrible Tasmanian Devil The Tasmanian Devil actually resembles Taz the cartoon charter .The Tasmanian Devil has white stripes near its legs,and rest of its body is black .It has big powerful jaws and razor sharp teeth ,and it’s the largest living marsupial .Its body length is 27 inches long ,and its tail is half its body length .Also its head is bigand muscular .Its body is the strongest body of anymammal living today. The Tasmanian Devil is found on the island Tasmanian. This marsupial is no longer found on the main land of Australia. It lives in the scrubs of the eucalyptus forest. They use hollow logs and burrows dug by wombats for shelter. The Tasmanian Devil is a carnivore that means it eats meat. It will occasionally hunt by it self, but usually it will wait for something to kill its food. When the animal is finished it will eat. It will eat almost anything. Its life span in the wild is estimated to be six years and in captivity slightly longer. It is solitary until feeding time then up to12 devils will attack a carcass and devour until there’s nothing .During eating time, loud vicious sounds can be heard miles away. It’s their way to communicate. When more than one adult male is eating aggressive behavior can happen. They emit a foul odor. Another strategy is to open their big mouth and let out small smelly bacteria. Farmers consider the devil a friend because they eat at such a fast rates that they eat clean the carcass before insects can reproduce and infect livestock. That’s why I chose the Tasmanian Devil.
