Ad Astra per Aspera

Ad Astra per Aspera is Latin for “To the Stars through Difficulties”. The Sunflower is the state flower. It reminds my of the blazing sun that keeps us warm. The Bison is the state mammal. It’s super strong. The amphibian is the Barred Tiger Salamander. Which it’s kind of weird, but I like it. These two things help each other. They are both symbols of Kansas. The Honey Bee and the Cotton wood tree. The Honey Bee helps the Cottonwood tree grow, and in return the Cotton wood tree gives the bees food. So that is a few things about Kansas.

Amelanistic Corn Snake and Holland Lop

Nacho and Lars are very different but the same. They’re both animals and they both eat. However, they eat on days different. Lars eats once every day while Nacho eats once a week. Lars eats alfalfa and Timothy Hay, and Nacho eats frozen mice.

Lars and Nacho are classroom pets. They stay in different cages. Nacho’s aquarium is smaller than Lars’s cage. Lars’s has a liter box in his cage, and Nacho has a heating pad, a rock, and a log to hide in.

Lars’s sense of smell, hearing, and eyesight are great. Nacho’s hearing and sense of smell isn’t very good. Nacho’s eyesight is different from Lars’s. He uses heat vision to find his food. They’re both loved by my class.

The Moon’s Phase

The moon, a hunk of rock that orbits a planet. With tons of craters that are deep. The moon reflects the sunlight so it glows at night.

The moon also has phases. It goes through these phases because the moon rotates like earth. Here are the phases. Full Moon when the moon is completely visible. Waning Gibbous is while almost all the moon is observable. Last Quart is when about half of the moon is noticeable. Waning Gibbous when the moon looks thin and silver. New Moon none of the moon is visible. Waxing Crescent seems thin and silver. First Quarter the right hand side of the moon can be seen. Waxing Gibbous almost all the moon is glowing from the sun’s light. So that’s the moon’s phases.
