The Great Russia
By Lillian

Russia is a fun, fascinating, intelligent, European country. The capital of Russia is Moscow. Russia is located in the northeastern part of Europe.

Russia’s square miles are probably 6,601,669 miles witch is a little less in size than twice the total square miles of the United States. The countries that border Russia are Asia, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine. Russia has many climates spread all around the country. There is the tundra in the northern part, a forest belt in the south, a grassy plain south of the forest belt, some deserts, and lots and lots of mountains. Russia produces many things including barley, oats, and wheat. Russia’s animals are cattle, hogs, sheep, salmon, and many more.

Russia’s population is usually 14,054,000. Russia’s many languages include Russian, Inuit, and Aleuts. Russia’s money is very different from the rest of the countries in Europe, Russia uses a ruble. It is worth a lot. One hundred kopecks to be sure. A ruble is a big bunch of coins worth 100 kopecks. A kopeck is the unit of the money in Russia. Russia eats lots of food including mulberry, barley, cattle, fruit, hogs, oats, potatoes, rye, sheep, sugar beets, sunflowers, vegetables, wheat, cod, haddock, hemming, and salmon.

Russia’s flag destine is very different from other coteries, its design is 3 stripes, the top is white, the middle is blue, and the bottom is red. St. Basil cathedral is one of Russia’s famous attractions in the red square. The St. Basil is famous because it is a very big tower; it looks like a palace, and is very beautiful. Peater the Great is a famous person in Russia. Born June 9, 1672, died in 1725 Peater the Great was one of the most famous rulers in history. Peater the Great is famous because he was king of Russia, and then became the first emperor of Russia and turned Russia into great European power.

I like Russia because it is a big country. I also like Russia because it is very different from the other countries. Finally, Russia plays so many cool sports!

I got my information from the world book kan-ed, books, and the internet.
